Tepezza® (teprotumumab-trbw) is an FDA-approved biologic medication given through an IV (intravenous) infusion to treat Thyroid Eye Disease (TED). It works by blocking a protein called the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R), which plays an important role in the inflammation and tissue changes that cause TED. By reducing this inflammation, Tepezza can help improve symptoms such as eye bulging, double vision, pain, and swelling.

What to Expect During Your Infusion
Before You Arrive
- Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment
- Eat a light meal unless your provider tells you otherwise
- Wear comfortable clothing with easy access to your arms
- Bring a book, tablet, or headphones to help pass the time
- Depending on how you feel after treatment, you may wish to arrange transportation home
During Your Appointment

- A nurse will review your medical information and answer questions
- Your arm will be cleaned and an IV line placed
- Your Tepezza infusion will typically last 60 to 90 minutes, depending on which treatment you’re receiving
- Your vital signs will be monitored during treatment
- Additional observation may be recommended based on medication protocols and your provider’s orders
How Often Will I Receive Tepezza?
Tepezza is given as a series of 8 IV infusions.
